Abstract

In the article presents the results of research of the multilayer Kurtak geo-archaeological district, carried out by the Russian-Chinese archeological expedition in accordance with the agreement concluded between the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of SB RAS and the Chongqing Cultural Heritage Research Institute. The ledge of the 12 m slope to the water line of the Krasnoyarsk Reservoir was studied in 2017 between the Kamenny and Sukhoy ravines. The ledge is located at the distance of 5 km from the village of Kurtak. The coastal deposits represented by 14 subdivisions of the local stratigraphic scheme were unearthed in the area of 8 m2.. The occurrence of archaeological materials has been clarified. The excavation revealed scanty artifacts in a clear stratigraphic sequence. The first culture-bearing layer was found in the Trifonovsky sediments associated with the Sartanian cold period at the depth of 0.70-0.85 m, and contained few artifacts. The second culture-bearing layer was discovered in the Kurtak strata of dense loess loam which corresponds to the Karginsky subcomplex. The archaeological materials were found at the depth of 1.2 m from the daylight surface. The archaeological works will be continued at the site.
