Abstract

The results of 2017 field research in the central part of Vengerovo-2 site are presented in this article. Structural and planigraphic features of the pit from dwelling No. 10 are identified. The hypotheses about construction of the settlement in accordance with the prearranged plan and surrounding it with the fence, are confirmed. Specific features of hearth functioning are revealed on the basis of the stratigraphic data. It is argued that one of the fire devices from Vengerovo-2 is morphologically identical with a hearth of Odino culture from Stary Tartas-5. The parallels to the archaeologically intact pottery vessels which were found in dwelling No. 10 are shown. The fact of the joint occurrence of pottery fragments belonging to the Odino and Krotovo cultures in the cultural layer of the settlement confirms the hypothesis concerning the coexistence of their carriers in the second half of the third millennium BC.
