Abstract

The article presents first results of field research at the burial ground of Ust-Tartas-2 (Vengerovo District of Novosibirsk Region), discovered in 2016 and combining the burials of different time. The results of the geophysical monitoring have been fully confirmed during the work. Seventeen burials and sixteen pits of economic or ritual purpose, which belong to three different chronological periods, have been examined. Based on the funeral ritual and inventory, the earliest burials can be dated to the Late Neolithic (5th-early 4th millennium BC). The second cultural horizon is represented by a sophisticated funeral and commemorative structure of the Ust-Tartas archaeological culture (4th millennium BC) which includes two burials circled by a disconnected ditch. The main bulk of the burial complexes which were studied in the current year belongs to the Odinovo culture of the Early-Middle Bronze Age.
