Abstract

The Rescue Archaeology Department of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography SB RAS conducted archaeological survey on the islands and the coastal areas of the Novosibirsk reservoir. We aimed to find new archaeological objects on the islands and the coastal areas of the Novosibirsk reservoir and the Ob, plan and realize the rescue measures for the archaeological sites under the critical conditions. Thus, we explored the area from Tula to Meret; the total distance was over 200 km. A trench of 10 m2 bisecting the remains of defensive construction in the form of a ditch and a wall was established in the present-day village of Malyshevo. We obtained the archaeological material dating to the period of existence of Malyshevo Sloboda; while the available written sources correlate location of the Sloboda with the place where archeological materials were found.
