Preservation of the Tatar Culture and Language in Small Towns and Villages in Omsk Region (on the 2016-2018 Expeditions Materials)

Abstract

The article is the historical review of national and cultural associations of Tatars in the small cities and villages of Omsk region. National and cultural associations of Tatars are the main efficient centers for Tatar culture and language preservation in small towns and villages in Ust-Ishimsky, Tevrizsky, Bolsherechensky, Tarsky and Kolosovsky districts of Omsk region with the dense Tatar population. These associations are active in both district centers and Tatar villages. The author considers history of creation and the main activities of Tatar national and cultural associations and Tatar folklore amateur groups because they lay the foundations for the revival of Tatar culture in Omsk region and the subsequent institutionalizing of Tatar national movement.
